Winter getaway

04/03/2015

Our first visit to Madeira was in November 2013, in Funchal (the capital) and here we find ourselves once again, exploring the rest of the island.

Not only was it cheap to fly and stay here, but this place is wonderful, starting with its scenery and people, and continuing with its dishes and drinks.

Porto Moniz (view from our hotel room) 🙂

Porto Moniz is the northwestern point of the island and it’s got some amazing lava swimming pools and wild hills full of green.

Limpet mussels (Lapas)

Souvenirs are a must when it comes to preserving memories, so, as a proper tourist, I bought some gifts for my fridge.

Haven't seen any yet, but its colours were cute

This is the place you’d want to go to if you are craving for a true culinary experience, wine tastings in the morning and warmish weather even in the cold months of the year.
